Day 1

We will meet you at Auckland International Airport and take you to collect your rental car. As you will have just come off a long flight, should you wish one of us can drive your rental car to your accommodation at Okura River Lodge which is about a 45-minute drive from the airport though Auckland and onto Auckland’s North Shore. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at Okura River Lodge; we will be on hand to assist with suggestions for activities and places to visit during your stay in Auckland.

Day 2

You have a 45-minute drive to Gulf Harbour Country Club.  Gulf Harbour is one of New Zealand’s top golf courses and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr; the course has been likened to Pebble Beach Golf Links, and hosted the 1998 World Cup and New Zealand Opens in 2005 and 2006.  Four sets of tees assure playability for every calibre of golfer.  In particular, the back nine holes offer spectacular cliff-top views of the ocean and surrounding islands.

Day 3

Take the 3-hour drive to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.  The Bay of Islands is one of the most picturesque and popular holiday sites in New Zealand, combining great outdoor experiences with some of New Zealand’s most significant historic sites.  This afternoon take a cruise around the beautiful Bay of Islands, keeping a look out for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other marine life.  Enjoy the views as you cruise past the Cape Brett Lighthouse, before arriving at the majestic Hole in the Rock – hold your breath as the skipper navigates through the narrow space and admire the rock walls which soar above you. Take in the Grand Cathedral Cave before heading back into the sheltered waters of the Bay and an island stopover at the historic Urapukapuka Island reserve.

Your accommodation is in 5-star apartments, located along the waterfront in Paihia and a short walk into town.
