Southland and Otago areas often get overlooked by the visitor as there is simply insufficient time to cover the whole of New Zealand.
Generally it is recognised that the further south you travel in New Zealand, the slower the pace of life and the friendlier the people. However, unfortunately the same cannot always be said about the climate! Dunedin has a lot of history and is home to one of New Zealand’s oldest golf course (Balmacewen, home of the Otago Golf Club).
