The Canterbury region covers a large part of the South Island’s east coast and is where Christchurch is located. Whislt Christchurch is still recovering from the earthquake it is very much open for business.
Christchurch has many golf courses. Both Clearwater Golf Club and Pegasus Golf Club have hosted the New Zealand Women’s Open in recent years and both provide a good golfing challenge. Terrace Downs Resort, with its own 18-hole championship golf course, is located about an hour’s drive from Christchurch and is in a stunning, albeit somewhat remote, location.
